I'm going to run ( he old, slow, fat guy way)the Atlanta Half Marathon on Thanksgiving, get out of credit card debt by working an extra job, finish remodeling my bathroom, advance to doing three sprint triathlons and one Olympic distance next summer, and participate in two century bike rides. That way I should meet my goal of weighing less than 215. I also want some rain in the south so I can train my dog to enjoy canoeing with some actual water in the river. No time for hate, no time for heroin. Burning up the calories and saving my financial ass in this economic meltdown is plenty to keep me busy through next year.

From those few I know who have survived it, it begins to quickly take every waking moment.
I like the dude on the wire who reports that the Junkie is the hardest working dude on the street. Every day he wakes up with no money, and has to do whatever it takes to get the scratch to take care of the need before the day is over. Unless you're on tour and have an army of enablers, it's harder than it looks to pull off a regular habit.
